IR E-Mail Newsletter Service and Inquiries

Article 1 (Definition of IR E-Mail Newsletter Service of Shiseido Co., Ltd.)
The “IR E-Mail Newsletter Service of Shiseido Co., Ltd.” (hereinafter the “IR E-Mail Newsletter Service”) is a service of Shiseido Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Shiseido”), providing members with updated information on Shiseido's Investor Relations by e-mail.

Article 2 (Membership)
1. Members are those who register for the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service using the procedure prescribed by Shiseido, and who are approved by Shiseido.
2. Members are entitled to receive updated information available from the service.
3. Members must agree to the terms of this agreement when registering as members. Any member using the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service is deemed to have agreed to the provisions of this agreement.
4. Registering as a member includes disclosing to Shiseido your name and e-mail address by means of the registration form prescribed by Shiseido. Doing so is your choice in the sense that no one is under any obligation to become a member. However, if you fail to provide either your name or your e-mail address, you will not be registered as a member.

Article 3 (Handling of Members' Personal Information)
1. Shiseido promotes appropriate management of personal information under the responsibility of its Chief Information Security Officer, while the Vice President of the Investor Relations Department is responsible for appropriate protection, management, and use of the IR E-Mail Newsletter members’ personal information.
2. Shiseido will use the personal information provided upon registration as a member of the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service for the following purposes:
・to distribute the IR E-Mail Newsletter,
・to respond to inquiries and offers,
・to provide various information, such as the Company’s publications.
3. Shiseido will not use the personal information of any member for any purpose other than above without a valid reason, or disclose it to any third party without the consent of the member.
Notwithstanding the above, this shall not apply if disclosure is required in accordance with statutory provisions, if disclosure is required by any governmental office for the purpose of performing its duties, or if disclosure without consent from the member concerned is permitted by laws and regulations.
4. For the purpose of operating its IR E-Mail Newsletter Service, Shiseido outsources part of the handling of members' personal information to a third party. Shiseido has entered into an agreement with the outsourcing partner on the handing of personal information and has implemented appropriate safeguards.
5. In addition to the above, Shiseido will handle all personal information appropriately in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Article 4 (Services for Members)
1. Shiseido may change the contents of the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service, or interrupt or discontinue the service without prior notice to members, at any time.
2. Members recognize that systems glitches or other circumstances of a computer may impede the service or cause the service to be interrupted.

Article 5 (Resigning Membership)
1. If a member wishes to cease using the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service, the member shall follow the procedures for suspension of distribution (i.e., resignation of membership) given on the appropriate page. If a member wants to change the e-mail address to which IR e-mail is sent, the member must resign membership once and then register again using the new e-mail address.
2. If Shiseido deems any member to be inappropriate as a member, or if a delivery error to a registered e-mail address occurs, Shiseido may, without notice to the member in advance, suspend service to the said member, thereby canceling the membership.
3. Personal information of members who have resigned their membership as stipulated in the preceding paragraphs 1 or 2 will be deleted at the timing of Shiseido’s system data update in the event of a resignation request, or in the following month in the event of a delivery error.

Article 6 (Compensation for Damage)
Shiseido is not responsible for any damage incurred by any member as a result of the member's use of the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service, or by changes to, or interruption or discontinuation, of the service. Shiseido is not responsible for any damage incurred by any member or third party as a result of the members' use of the IR E-Mail Newsletter Service.

Article 7 (Changes to This Agreement)
Shiseido may make changes to this agreement as it deems appropriate without giving notification to members. Any such changes will be posted on its website and will take effect in five (5) business days after posting. Any member who does not accept changes to this agreement should resign their membership.

This agreement takes effect from May 16, 2008.
