Fans of the Shiseido Parlor
26 March (Wed) to 29 June (Sun), 2003
In March 2001, the red brick Tokyo Ginza Shiseido Building was completed on the corner of Ginza 8-chome, Shiseido's birthplace. The third through fifth floors of this building house the “Shiseido Parlor,” a new incarnation of the 100 year-old original shop which in 1902 became Japan's first soda fountain making and selling soda water and ice cream, and later a restaurant serving authentic Western-style cuisine. This exhibition traced the history of the Shiseido Parlor and introduced some of the personalities who frequented it and the anecdotes surrounding their visits.
