Perfect Cover: Celebrating 30 Years Since its Launch

On September 1, 1995, the first product from Perfect Cover was launched. Unlike regular foundations, it was developed to effectively cover blue discoloration (Ota nevus), red discoloration (hemangiomas), and dark spots while creating a natural finish. This was accomplished with the cooperation of medical institutions (currently Showa Medical University Hospital), through research on makeup effects, and by confirming that it satisfied the needs of patients. The light-based technology incorporated into this foundation continues to be used in current Perfect Cover products.

Since then, Perfect Cover has expanded its lineup with technological advancements, releasing a foundation specialized for vitiligo coverage in 2006, and a foundation for covering scars and burn marks in 2008. As our activities expanded, we have also addressed the need to cover skin color changes (such as darkening and dark spots) associated with cancer treatment.

In 2017, we developed a foundation that addresses a wide range of skin conditions with a single product, and introduced the brand's first Loose Powder and Cleansing Oil. From the 2022 product lineup, we updated the brand logo as a symbol of Shiseido's social activities along with the package design.
For the current Perfect Cover, updated in February 2025, the functionality of all products were enhanced while developing shades to match the diverse skin tones in the global market.n addition to its existing markets of Japan, China, Singapore, and Taiwan, Perfect Cover has also been launched in France since 2025. We are promoting the brand in collaboration with retailers, medical institutions, and patient organizations in each country and region. Perfect Cover earns positive feedback from customers for its exceptional coverage and long-lasting performance.
Perfect Cover aims to continue being a brand that supports those who want to stay true to themselves through the use of coverage makeup.
