Shiseido Awarded First Double A Rating from CDP

~ The second consecutive year in the Climate Change category and the first time in the Forests category ~

Shiseido was recognized for its leadership in transparency and performance in the two categories of Climate Change and Forests and selected for the global environmental non-profit CDP’s A List. While this is the second consecutive year the company was selected for the Climate Change A List, it is the first time it was selected for the Forests A List. It is the first time Shiseido was selected for the double A List in both the categories of Climate Change and Forests. 

As part of Shiseido’s initiatives to help mitigate climate change, the company has set science-based targets for CO₂ emissions reduction across its entire value chain by 2030,*1 aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050. Shiseido has also joined RE100, *2 a global initiative that brings together companies committed to transitioning to 100% renewable electricity in business operations. The company is also actively working towards reducing environmental impact throughout its value chain, including the sustainable sourcing of raw materials. It also disclosed TCFD/TNFD reports*3 that analyze the relationship between the company’s business and climate change, as well as natural and biological diversity, from the perspectives of risks and opportunities.

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions.
