Shiseido Included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index for the Third Consecutive Year

Shiseido Company, Limited (“Shiseido”) is pleased to announce that it has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (the “DJSI World Index”), a leading global sustainability index, and the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (the “DJSI Asia Pacific Index”), an index of companies in the Asia Pacific region, for three consecutive years.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) were jointly developed by S＆P Dow Jones Indices LLC and RobecoSAM AG, which are designed to analyze and evaluate the performance of companies based on economic, environmental, and social criteria to identify global sustainability leaders. The DJSI are recognized as leading benchmarks for ESG-focused investors to make socially responsible investment decisions. In 2023, approximately 3,500 leading global companies were assessed, of which 321 companies (38 from Japan) have been selected for inclusion in the DJSI World Index. In the Asia Pacific region, 156 companies (75 from Japan) out of approximately 600 entrants have been included in the DJSI Asia Pacific Index.
Shiseido received top scores across all three dimensions for its outstanding performance; “Transparency ＆ Reporting” and “Innovation Management” in Governance ＆ Economic Dimension, “Environmental Policy ＆ Management Systems” and “Product Stewardship” in Environmental Dimension, and “Human Capital Development” and “Talent Attraction ＆ Retention” in Social Dimension. As a result, the Company achieved the highest overall score in the Personal Products industry.
